DAYNIGHTIS takes its readers' privacy seriously. This page explains what personal data the site collects, why, and what rights you have over it. Under Turkish data protection law (KVKK, Law No. 6698), the site owner is the data controller.
What we collect
Newsletter. Your email address, nothing else. The date you subscribed and the version of the notice you agreed to are stored as a record of your consent. You can unsubscribe from the link in any email, without an account.
Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you give one, and your message. Used only to reply to you; never added to any marketing list.
Comments. Your name, email address and the comment itself. Your email is never published; it is used to review your comment and to reply if needed. Comments appear after review.
Reading counts. To measure how often an essay is read, a randomly generated identifier holding no personal information is stored in your browser. Your IP address is not recorded. We ask your consent for this; if you decline, nothing is counted and the site works exactly the same.
Cookies
The site uses three cookies. None of them serve advertising or cross-site tracking:
- PHPSESSID — Session security and form validation. Essential; deleted when you close your browser.
- dn_lang — Remembers the language you chose. Essential.
- dn_vtok — Anonymous identifier for reading counts. Created only if you consent, and expires after one year.
No third-party advertising, social pixel or tracking cookies are used.
How long we keep it
Newsletter records until you unsubscribe. Contact messages for at most two years after the exchange ends. Comments until you ask for removal or the essay is withdrawn. Reading counts are kept only as daily totals that cannot be traced to a person.
Is it shared
No. Your data is never sold, rented or passed to third parties for marketing. Only the hosting server and the email delivery service can technically access it, and only as far as providing the service requires.
Your rights
Under Article 11 of the KVKK you may ask whether your data is processed, request information about it, learn the purpose of processing, have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected, request erasure, and object to the results of processing.
Write to the address on the contact page to exercise these rights. Requests are answered within thirty days at the latest.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date above changes with it. Newsletter subscribers are told separately about anything significant.
